On September 9, Fello hosted Celebration Impact, an event honoring our employees, the people we support, and community leaders who are building a more inclusive Maryland.
This year, we recognized five people setting new standards and showing what advocacy and self-advocacy can achieve. Their accomplishments advance Fello’s mission and reflect their character and values.
“Each honoree reminds us that meaningful change happens when people choose to step forward and lead,” said Jonathon Rondeau, President & CEO of Fello. “They’ve made a lasting impact in their own way, and together, they reflect the power of those who believe in what’s possible. We’re grateful for their leadership, commitment, and the difference they make every day.”
We’re proud to introduce the people whose efforts and inspiration set them apart in our community.
Leadership in Direct Service: Lebrone Scott
The Julie Gallagher Leadership in Direct Service Award recognizes Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who go above and beyond to understand each person and provide exceptional support.
Lebrone collaborates with the people he supports to help them achieve their goals, develop meaningful routines, and access opportunities to participate in their communities. He builds and maintains strong relationships with families and consistently demonstrates professionalism and grace. Lebrone’s dedication and person-centered approach exemplify what it means to support with patience and heart.
Leadership in Administration & Management: Sara Pease
The Leadership in Administration & Management Award recognizes leaders whose vision strengthens Fello as an organization and expands opportunities for the people we support.
Over the past year, Sara has worked tirelessly to connect with and support families of children with disabilities across Maryland. Her leadership has been vital to the ongoing success of Fello at The Mall, where she has led initiatives, organized events, and fostered empowering relationships. Sara’s innovative approach is now a model for outreach in other communities and continues to expand the impact of our programs.
Outstanding Personal Achievement Award
The Outstanding Personal Achievement Award recognizes people supported by Fello who have shown what’s possible through independence, determination, and self-direction.
Self-Direction: Jennifer Linder
Since 2017, Jennifer has self-directed her services while living independently in her own home. She has recruited and managed her own team from within her community, ensuring that her employees are supported. Jennifer’s commitment to self-direction and to her team demonstrates the positive impact of empowering people to take charge of their own lives.
Fello Services: Keith Williams
Keith has worked at Live! Casino & Hotel for over nine years, earning a reputation as the go-to person among his colleagues. He lives independently with minimal support, managing his home and daily responsibilities while making time for what matters most to him. Keith has built a life that reflects his goals and interests, including working on his driver’s license and going on a cruise to Bermuda, while continually pursuing new opportunities and embracing new challenges.
Impact Through Leadership Award: Michele Tharp
The Impact Through Leadership Award honors those whose leadership and service have made a lasting difference for Fello and the people we support.
Michele has served on Fello’s Board of Directors since 2012, guiding our organization through growth, leadership transitions, and a major rebrand. She has championed community development, mentored her fellow board members, and fostered strong leadership across the organization. As Board Chair, her vision and dedication have shaped Fello’s direction and left an enduring legacy.
We thank each honoree for all they do and for the example they set. We look forward to continuing our partnership as we work together to empower more people and move closer to our vision of a Maryland where everyone belongs, lives fully, and has the opportunity to exercise choice in leading their own lives.
