Volunteer FAQs
Fello welcomes volunteers who are 18 or older and able to pass a background check and provide a valid government-issued ID. All volunteers must also complete the training required for their role. These requirements are explained during the initial conversation.
Volunteering time commitments depend on the volunteer role. For corporate support volunteers, training usually takes about one hour, and volunteer shifts typically last 2–4 hours, depending on availability and organizational needs.
For program support volunteers, training may include about two hours of virtual modules plus an in-person Meet and Greet. Volunteer shifts vary based on the schedules of the people we support and may range from a one-hour class or workshop to a three-hour activity session.
Yes! We provide role-specific training and ongoing support from our team, including virtual modules and an in-person walkthrough before your first shift. Your exact training requirements will depend on your role and will be reviewed during your initial call.
At this time, volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
The safety and wellbeing of the people we support is our top priority. A background check is one of the ways we maintain a safe, trusted, and welcoming space for the people we support, our team, and our volunteers.
Please allow 2–3 business days for our team to respond. We will then contact you to schedule an introductory phone or video call, where we will share more about Fello’s mission, learn about your interests, and discuss the volunteer role that may be the best match for you, along with the next onboarding steps.
